Children in ancient China had very little education. Most families were poor and the children would stay at home and work on the family farm. Rich boys, however, did attend school in hopes of someday getting a job with the government or gaining political power. Reading and writing were the pirmary lessons and test scores were very important in deciding who would get the best jobs. The boys would also study phiosophy and poetry. Once they learned to read, they would spend most of the school day memorizing the teachings of Confucius. Greek Traditions NEW! Greek Traditions Store! Seven Wonders of the Ancient World
