Egyptian Pharaohs

Sneferu: Founder of the 4th Dynasty.
Sneferu was the son of Huni and Meresankh I. His son was Khufu. Sneferu is known for his successful building projects which included two pyramids, the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid.

Tutankhamun: The youngest Pharaoh to rule Egypt.
Known as King Tut, he was the son ofAkhenaten and Nefertiti. He became Pharaoh when he was only nine years old and died at age 18-19. King Tut's tomb was discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter. 3500 items we found in the tomb.

Khufu: Builder of The Great Pyramid.
Khufu waas the son of Sneferu and Hetepheres. Khufu built The Great Pyramid, the largest and most famous Egyptian landmark. It was to be used as his tomb. Khufu was considered to be a good king and had a peaceful reign.

Ramses II (Ramses the Great): Builder of monuments and temples.
Ramses II was the son of Queen Tuya snd Sety I. He had a long reign of 67 years and lived more that 90 years. Ramses II loved architecture and therefore built more monuments and temples than any other pharaoh. Ramses II was also a great military leader and won many wars.

Cleopatra: The last ruler of Egypt.
Cleopatra was the daughter of Ptolemy XII and Cleopatra V Tryphaena. She was the mistress of Julius Caesar and married Mark Antony. Cleopatra became pharaoh when she was 17 and committed suicide whan she was 39 years old. After Cleopatra's death, the Romans took over Egypt.
