Special Holiday Moments
Since the holidays can be a very hectic and stressful time of year, we
often don't take the time for the little things that make this time of year
magical. Here are some ideas to help you create your own special holiday moments:
1. Surprise someone!
Everyone loves a little something unexpected.
This could be a small bouquet of flowers for a co-worker, a favorite candy
treat for a loved one, or a gift card for your favorite cashier at the super-
market. The surprise doesn't have to be expensive and the rewards will
be priceless!
2. Take the time!
Everyone dreads waiting in line during the holiday
season or anytime. Now is the time to turn this around. Next time
you are in line, let the person behind you go ahead. By taking, at the
most, an extra five minutes, you'll feel good about yourself and share
some holiday spirit.
3. Pass it on!
While you're baking your favorite batch of Christmas
cookies it doesn't take much effort to bake a second batch. Place
these on a decorative plate and deliver to a friend or neighbor
suggesting that they pass on another plate of goodies to someone.
You can find some very pretty plates at discount or dollar stores
which are great for this purpose. This is also a wonderful activity
to share in with your children.
4. Sing!
Plan a family sing-a-long featuring your favorite Christmas
carols. Hot chocolate and cookies are a perfect accompaniment.
5. Share good wishes!
Don't forget to wish those around you a Merry
Christmas or Happy Holidays. Spread the joy and others will too. It's
contagious!
6. Give!
Christmas is all about the giving. Drop a dollar in the bucket,
buy a toy for charity, or donate canned goods. The little things add up
to a lot.
7. Visit!
If you have a loved one or friend that you haven't see in awhile,
take a moment to stop and see them. Let them know that you care.
8. Create!
Plan your own unique Special Holiday Moments and make them a
tradition. Write yourself a note about it and store it with your holiday
decorations. This will remind you to do it all again next year!
